Breathing new life into cracked spines, torn bindings, and decaying covers using chemically stable, archival-grade materials.
Our restoration philosophy adheres strictly to international conservation guidelines. Every treatment we perform is **fully reversible** and designed to preserve the original structure as much as possible. Rather than rebinding a book outright, we aim to retain original boards, titles, and spine labels.
We specialize in deep cleaning, page stabilization, and restoring split spines of heirloom family Bibles. We match historical grains and colors to maintain the book’s heritage.
If a book cover is intact but the leather spine is crumbled or split, we insert a new piece of matched leather under the original cover boards, then mount the original remaining spine fragments on top. This preserves the historical look.
Stabilizing paper tears and filling missing paper edges. We use premium Japanese kozo tissue and starch paste, which are completely archival, non-acidic, and do not discolor or degrade with time.
When the original cover is completely destroyed beyond recovery, we perform a historically accurate rebinding. We prepare hand-sewn headbands, cover the boards in fine leather, and tool classic designs with genuine gold leaf.
